Dr. George Mason Garcia

George Mason Garcia, MD

George Mason Garcia, M.D. FACC, FCCP has been involved in medicine for more than 22 years. His practice incorporates invasive as well as clinical cardiology both in a solo and large group setting. His passion centers around the patient, a lifelong commitment to improving the quality of medical care and leading an avant-garde change in how to access it.


Dr. Garcia trained in internal medicine from 1989 to 1992 at Christ Hospital and Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL affiliated with Rush University. He continued with his cardiology fellowship at Christ Hospital where his last year was the rank of chief cardiology fellow. In 1996 he completed his interventional cardiology training at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, TX affiliated with Texas A&M University. The last 22 years have been in clinical practice in Tucson, AZ, Idaho Falls, ID and now in Lake Havasu City, AZ.


Outside of his responsibilities as a doctor and manager, Dr. Garcia spends time with his family and friends. Enjoys reading about history and flying.

Dr. Kanaan Abow Alkhier

Dr. Alkhier is involved in both medicine and imaging. For 23 years, he's been a respected doctor, and he's worked with imaging for 17 years and counting. Dr. Alkhier is proud to assist the Alliance for Physician Certification and Advancement. He believes that this organization serves a meaningful role to promote global excellence standards in healthcare and patient safety, and he is committed to helping doctors be more competent with portable ultrasounds for better diagnostic and therapeutic ends.


As part of Dr. Alkhier's commitment to excellence, he continues to pursue superior knowledge, cutting-edge advancements, and well-honed clinical acumen. This helps him to grow as a doctor and a person. Professionally, he offers patients expertise with his background in diagnostic radiology, state-of-the-art imaging modalities, and the latest knowledge on diseases.


Dr. Alkhier was selected as the medical director of the vascular program of the Arizona Heart Foundation, and he firmly believes that patients deserve the best care and treatment at all times. He pushes to increase knowledge of and access to more advanced services to allow medicine and diagnostic radiology to make a positive impact on the lives of patients.


In his free time, Dr. Alkhier loves spending time outside with his family. He is especially fond of destinations with breathtaking views.

Dr. Duane Schuil

Duane Schuil, MD, PhD

Cardiologist, MD, PhD, RPVI

Dr. Schuil spent over 30 years at a tertiary care research facility in Michigan before coming to Lakeside Heart & Vascular Center. As an interventional cardiologist, he is fellowship-trained and board-certified. He graduated from medical school and graduate school as a medical scientist at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston in 1983.


From there, he completed internship, residency, chief residency, and cardiology fellowship training at the UCLA San Fernando Valley Program in California in 1989. During his practice, Dr. Schuil expanded his specialty to include peripheral vascular disease. He is adept with diagnosis and management including angiography and percutaneous intervention. This work was done through preceptorships with Dr. Craig Walker at the Cardiac Institute of the South in Louisiana.


When he's not at work, Dr. Schuil loves spending time with his wife, Kristi. They have been working on repurposing an abandoned farm from the nineteenth century in northern Michigan. He's helped make Gabriel Farm into an inn, winery, brewery, and event center.

Dr. Anju Beesetty

Anju Beesetty, MD, AP

Primary Care, Assistant Physician

Dr. Anju is a dedicated physician with a passion for women's health care, preventative medicine, and community medicine. Born and raised in India, she pursued her medical education at Soochow University in China, where she earned her medical degree. She has experience in providing comprehensive healthcare services to diverse patient populations.


Having recently relocated from New Jersey to Lake Havasu City, Dr. Anju is excited to bring her expertise and compassionate care to the local community. She understands the importance of tailoring medical services to meet the specific needs of individuals from various socio-economic backgrounds, particularly those facing low socio-economic conditions. Dr. Anju is committed to improving the health and well-being of her patients by providing accessible healthcare and promoting preventive measures.


In addition to her professional pursuits, Dr. Anju maintains a well-rounded personal life. She enjoys engaging in various hobbies such as gardening, cooking, and playing badminton. Her love for community service extends beyond her medical practice, as she actively participates in initiatives aimed at improving the lives of others.


Dr. Anju brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and a compassionate approach to her medical practice. Her dedication to women's health care, preventative medicine, and serving underserved communities makes her a valuable asset to the Lake Havasu City community.

Zeeshan Zahid, MD, MS, AP

Cardiology/ Endocrinology MD, MS, AP

Dr. Zahid has spent most of his career in the Midwest, being involved in clinical research. Dr. Zahid previously worked at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL, at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, where he conducted clinical research on microbial diseases associated with immune modulation and food allergies.


Later, he became affiliated with the University of Toledo in Toledo, OH, where he worked at the CeDER (Center for Diabetes and Endocrine Research) and was involved in both clinical and basic science aspects of research to understand the pathophysiological basis of diabetes.


He conducted experimentation in the lab with chimeric mice models to develop a cure for diabetes. His research work was also focused on a variety of other spectrums of endocrine disease, such as thyroid and metabolic bone disease. He has published several papers in this field and has presented articles at numerous meetings.


Working as an assistant physician, Dr. Zahid believes in evidence-based clinical practice when it comes to his patients. He enjoys practicing both spectrums of medicine, cardiology, and endocrinology. He believes in providing his patients with good insight and helping them understand their diagnosis and relevant prognosis.


Outside of work, Dr. Zahid enjoys traveling to National Parks across the country, studying ancient history and religion, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Azra Niaz

Endocrinologist, MD

Dr. Niaz is certified to work with endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolic issues. As an endocrinologist, she takes pride in connecting with patients to focus on educating them and helping them manage their conditions. She can provide comprehensive care for diabetes, thyroid disorders, parathyroid problems, adrenal issues, and pituitary concerns.


She can also provide assistance with reproductive disorders such as PCOS in females and hypogonadism in men. She is particularly passionate about weight management, obesity, and lipid disorders.

Trish has spent years as a nurse, starting off as a nursing assistant and LPN before becoming an RN. Most of her experience has been in the ICU and cardiac cath lab. She completed a master's degree at NAU and is now a nurse practitioner at Lakeside Heart & Vascular Center.


Trish used to live in Tennessee, but she moved to Arizona in 2008 with her husband, Chad, and their three pups. As a professional, she loves educating and assisting patients to promote optimal cardiovascular health.

Rachel has 20 years of experience in emergency medicine. She spent nine years as a paramedic before going into nursing. She has a master's degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas as part of the nurse practitioner program. She loves serving her local community, and she is an advocate for promoting health and wellness.


As a native of Las Vegas, NV, Rachel came to Mohave, AZ 14 years ago. When she's not in the office, Rachel loves spending time outside, and she prioritizes family time.

Dr. Ashley Desmarais

Ashley Desmarais, MD

Ashley Desmarais, MD (soon to be Ashley Mulder) was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. She obtained an undergraduate degree in Nutritional Sciences and later completed medical school at The University of Arizona. Dr. Desmarais continued her training at Abrazo Family Medicine Residency in Phoenix, Arizona. Before medical school and during residency, she worked in a variety of specialties including OB, ER, and pediatrics before pursuing Family Medicine. 

 

After visiting Lake Havasu City and meeting her fiancé, she is excited to be moving to Havasu to make it a home and to be joining the community. She enjoys an active lifestyle and especially loves running, hiking, and being on the water. It is her goal to get to know families and give them complete care.

Brittney Mahnke, ACNP

Anthony C. Pozun, DO, FACC

Interventional Cardiologist

Dr. Pozun has been providing comprehensive and compassionate care to patients in the greater Phoenix area for over 17 years. He completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Midwestern University, Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1999. In 2002, Dr Pozun completed a three-year Internal Medicine residency program at Banner University Medical Center (Good Samaritan) / Carl T Hayden VA Medical Center through the University of Arizona College of Medicine. He then completed a three-year Cardiovascular Medicine fellowship in 2005, followed by a one-year Interventional Cardiology training program in 2006 at the same institution .He is board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology and Internal Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). His areas of expertise coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease and management of critical limb ischemia/amputation prevention, congestive heart failure, venous insufficiency and treatment of venous wounds, hypertension, and the management of complex medical issues. Dr. Pozun understands the importance of establishing excellent and open communication with every individual he encounters. More importantly, is the level of trust that is created between him and his patients.


Dr. Pozun is an experienced musician and an avid jazz fan. In his spare time enjoys spending time with his four boys. His interests include tennis, golf, downhill skiing and mountain biking.


Dr. Ashley Desmarais

Homam Moussa Pacha, MD

Interventional Cardiologist

Dr. Pacha is an interventional cardiologist with a passion for providing comprehensive care for patients with heart and vascular disease. As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Pacha specializes in the treatment of coronary artery disease, a condition characterized by the buildup of plaque in the arteries that supply blood to the heart. Dr. Pacha is also trained to diagnose and treat peripheral arterial and venous disease, which affects the blood vessels outside of the heart. This includes conditions such as peripheral artery disease, deep vein thrombosis, Pulmonary embolism, and varicose veins.


One of the things that Dr. Pacha enjoys most about practicing medicine is building strong relationships with patients. Dr. Pacha believes that good communication and trust are essential to providing the best possible care for patients and strives to create a comfortable and welcoming environment for all patients.

Amanda has been a practicing Physician Associate for more than 6 years. She received her masters degree from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science. Her primary focus of study is Gastroenterology. She specifically has a passion for Hepatology and spearheaded the Hepatitis C clinic at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, CA before moving to Lake Havasu City. In her spare time, she enjoys reading fantasy novels, traveling with her husband, and baking.

George Jolly, MD is an Interventional Cardiologist board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac Computerized Tomography. Dr. Jolly did his Internal Medicine Residency at Westchester Medical Center, New York. He completed his Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship at Loma Linda University Medical Center, California and further trained in Interventional Cardiology at Ascension Borgess Hospital, Michigan. 

 

Dr. Jolly is passionate about the treatment and prevention of coronary artery disease and peripheral artery disease and has a holistic approach to his practice. He has extensive experience working with diverse patients and strongly believes in establishing trusting relationships with his patients.  Dr. Jolly enjoys traveling with his wife and listening to music during his free time.
